Are you a born and raised Calgarian? Just curious because you said that you don't use cabs here and I really think you might be underestimating the issues of taxi accessibility that have plagued us.

I have criticized the cab companies in this thread multiple times now.
I was born and raised in Calgary yes but do not live there now (it is still the city I have lived in more than any other city.) I probably go to Calgary 2-3 times a month as well on average.
That said I have never had an issue getting a cab or with a cab being rude or refusing me service. I am not denying that there appears to be a major problem with the way the Cab system works in Calgary. What I am saying is that Uber coming in and ignoring the laws is not the solution and shouldn't be allowed by the city.
Also it isn't like Uber is following the laws in all the other cities they operate in. This isn't a Calgary only issue. It is the way they always operate and the way the manage to be profitable.
Saying Uber is bad and/or wrong in what they are doing is not supporting the cab companies.
