I feel TNG has been done to death. DS9 and Voyager are from the same era.
I feel like the era between OS and TNG hasn't really been covered and could present a solid option, but Kirk and some of the OG crew will have to have parts to play as they're all in admiralty. So I'd pass.
IMO, You have to jump ahead another generation. New Flagship, new crew, everything.
Skip ahead 100 years and bam! you're checking out new Galaxies, Not just quadrants or systems in your own. All the major players have formed a greater alliance group , the borg are nothing but bugs on a windshield now because they've prevented assimilation like it was a cold.
There's endless angles you can take with a new series. And seeing as it is a web series. Theres a good chance we can get some real grit into the series like its an HBO show.
