Yandle has 7 points in 12 games this season.
I think Yandle and Byfuglien are similar players in that they are both offense first defencemen that aren't really counted on to be shutdown guys or do a lot of PK work. Yandle doesn't really PK at all while Buff has been playing about a minute per game.
Buff is more physical, but he'll be 38 by the end of a 7 year contract while Yandle will only be 36.
Add in Buff's history of not really being in the best shape(I know round is a shape), and I think Yandle is the better bet to be a high performer by the end of his contract.
