I know when Bob got his extension. The team was 9 games over .500 prior to the 8 game slide when they were losing tight 1-2 goal games. Treliving even mentioned it was important to get the deal done at that time to eliminate any distraction and let the team the organization believes in Bob and his system.
Hartley has done a great job establishing a culture of hard work and teaching the young players what it takes to win and letting them make mistakes so they learn.
The losses this year are much different than last year and the team appears to have lost some of the identity they forged over the past couple years. if the team bottoms out this year I don't see how Bob doesn't have a very short leash.
