I would disagree on a fundamental level, as any healthy dialogue completely depends on those holding the conversation (rather than the bloated terminology used).
Xenophobia certainly serves the purpose well enough, but there has been a rise in Islam-specific phobia and rhetoric. Hence, 'Islamaphobia'.
Homophobia wasn't a word until there was a reason for it to exist. Namely, the backlash against the anti-homosexual cultural landscape.
