Stealth edit: And especially a white knob (insert joke here), I learnt that the hard way growing up. When you're playing at a level that doesn't have instant replay, sometimes in goal mouth scrambles if a ref briefly sees a small, black object in the net, he may call it a goal WHEN IT WAS TOTALLY THE KNOB OF MY STICK!!! Not that I've experienced that frustration or anything...goalies, don't use black tape for the knob.

When I first bought my first set of pads, I was all about the white out pads, but as time went by and watching goalies like Hiller and other fellow goaltenders I realized having a bit of color isn't too bad on the pads.
To me, having a simple design on both your mask and your goalie gear is where its at.
Also, I wonder if Karri Ramo uses the Magic Eraser on his pads every now and than.
