Stealth edit: And especially a white knob (insert joke here), I learnt that the hard way growing up. When you're playing at a level that doesn't have instant replay, sometimes in goal mouth scrambles if a ref briefly sees a small, black object in the net, he may call it a goal WHEN IT WAS TOTALLY THE KNOB OF MY STICK!!! Not that I've experienced that frustration or anything...goalies, don't use black tape for the knob.

isn't there a rule in the nhl about the colour of tape the goalie can put on the knob of the stick? was it last year that one team made a goalie cover the knob of his stick in a different coloured tape..... might have been in a shootout - i can't remember
