He's a massive upgrade on our second pairing (And first pairing down the road) once he clicks. IMO Russell is the man out when that happens, especially when you have a few seemingly NHL ready guys in the AHL right now

No question about both Hamilton and Russell. I like Russell OK, but between him and Wideman, Russell is the easier skill set to replace.
And look at the Flames D a few years down the road:
Brodie, Hamilton, Andersson, Kylington, Wotherspoon, Kulak, Culkin, and maybe Gio is still around. Maybe Nakladl is a veteran spotting in sometimes.
