That being said, I agree with you in that any team that has Nick Holden in their top 4 could probably use a guy like Wideman and I think they'd probably want him.

Lots of teams these days will run 5 of their 6 D as offensive Dman. New NHL, transition game, pinching D et al... it was key in a lot of the playoffs last year. Far from the days when you would have one Sandis Ozolinsh on your team.
I honestly think Wideman is a real good part of this team right now, I get his salary could maybe be a problem next year but I wouldn't go dump him for nothing. Keep him for this year unless you can get a good young player and we'll see what happens in the off season.
