For me 16-17, 17-18 are more important than this year so if we have to take a step back now to improve ourselves for those two years then that is what should be done.

Just because they try and make a playoff birth this season doesn't mean they cant do so the following seasons...what a strange thing to say. I'm really not sure how taking a step back means better going forward either. This is a pretty youthful team that needs all the experience they can get and the playoffs offer that up like nothing else.
