Way over the top handling of the situation.

Its not like the kid was armed, or in a position to threaten anymore student.

She acted like a idiot, but the cop took that up a level.

Basically this should have been solved in a verbal manner. You clear the classroom to remove the audience, but keep the teacher as a witness. You call her parents or guardians to come and get the kid and suspend or expel her.

This goes back to looking at how we train the police to deal with situations like this.
