What it can do is show you if a player/team is getting some luck (high sv pct + high shooting percentage) or are having bad luck (low sv pct + low shooting percentage) that may be impacting their bottom line stats on the ice.

Which can be valuable in assessing if a one year dip in performance for a player was based on something in their game changing or maybe if it was just a bit unlucky.

SV% and SH% are completely 100% unrelated to each other though. Look at SH% individually. That's a useful stat. Adding SH% and SV% together tells me nothing.
I bet everyone on Montreal has a high PDO. Are they "lucky"? Or do they have Carey Price on their team?
