I'm just sad. Like really, really sad. More than that it hurts to watch this team right now. The statement was meant to reflect how much it hurts to be a Flames fan at the moment, not that I was giving up on the team.

Mods, if you are willing to change it back, please do.
My bad as I'm the one who called you out. The sarcasm obviously flew over my head...I respect you as a poster and you made great GDTs. Please don't stop.

We're all hurting now for some real ''Flames hockey''. It's just annoying to see the bandwagoners jumping off the cliff this early in the season, knowing full well they will be the ones pushing their way back on as soon as we win 2 in a row.

As I said in my earlier post, most of us projected the Flames being 4-5 years away from being a true contender when this rebuild began. If you would have told any of us that there will be ups and down during this rebuild but we might even make the post season once during it, not a single person would have turned that proposal down. It wasn't unreasonable to expect the Flames to take a step back this season after the magical one they just had. Low and behold here we are.

Even though we traded 3 draft picks in a deep draft and are close to the cap, that does not mean this is the finished product like some have said. The only people needing to temper their expectations are the fans who proclaim they have a right to have those expectations simply because we made the playoffs last season, Hamilton was traded here and we're close to the cap. I can guarantee Treliving feels crappy about where we are, but he knew full well of the growing pains involved and has a long term plan in action.

Times like this are when fan bases are truly tested for their loyalty, and seeing whether management will keep their word about staying the course in the long run. I don't see any indication of Treliving wavering from that stance, so I'm on board 100% with this team no matter what the results are.
