I'd say we're there on basic incandesent bulbs (A10 bulbs, BR potlights); but for anything replacing a halogen bulb (ie crisp white and non-diffused) we're not.

Manufacturers still haven't got a good lens that replicates a halogen's light pattern, whether its a PAR20, PAR30, or GU/MR style. LEDs are too directional and most bulbs don't diffuse the light much at all, so it makes it too harsh of a light.

Add in the fact there are still no real "good" whites out there (that I've seen) that match Halogen. Phillips bright white is borderline purple, and anything lower than that is gross yellow. I want to be able to install LEDs and not be able to tell instantly they're LEDs.

Until they can nail halogen replacements, I'll stick with the real deal. Which is a real shame because at $10 a pop, they're basically as expensive as LEDs now.
