Yeah no I don't buy that he was talking like he wouldn't be back next year. AA said it was his choice not to talk about his extension while the team was competing in the playoffs and he didn't want to talk about it today because he was there to discuss the teams season hence "Today is not the day to discuss his contract".

IMO, Shapiro has no reason not to bring him back. When the Jays won the AL East clincher fans were shaking his hands when he was sitting the stands and praised all the work he did to end the 22 year old drought. He was pretty much a fan favorite as well.

Regarding his comments about the season, AA said they are very interested in bringing Price back and the passion shown by the fans during the run has given them a good shot at signing him back. He hoped Estrada would be back. Dickey put himself in a good position after the All-Star break so his option could be exercised. Devon Travis and Ryan Goins will fight for the starting job at 2B. It's a good problem to have in the outfield with too many good players (Revere, Saunders, Bautista, Pillar and Pompey) and it gives them options.
