Why? what video were you watching? He had his hand on the gun before the door even opened. The reason he shot thi dog was he saw a American terrier. The dog was probably barking after he knocked so he assumed it was a big dog that would be aggressive when the door opened. He looked ready for a fight ONLY after he knocked on the door.I don't think there would have been shots fired if it was a little dog that he thought was barking. I think it looks like he got a little trigger happy.
This is speculation I know but after the officer knocked the situation escalated. Hiw many times have tou knocked on a friend's door that owned a dog that it didn't bark?
