It doesn't matter. When the other teams are gifted HRs (the opinion of the vast majority of impartial fans looking around online) and give the opposing closer a strike zone consisting of pitches 3 inches off the plate (according to PitchFX) you can't not blame the umps.
Yes, the Jays should've gotten hits with runners in scoring position. But guess what? That happens - it's baseball. Donaldson hit a 114 mph rocket (hardest hit of the year) right at a guy with a runner on. That's not clutch? Sometimes hard hits are outs and that was tonight for the Jays. But never should the umps dictate the outcome of a game.
