Just to add a bit to some of Brads excellent comments (my thoughts on each in some instances).
Brad was happy to apologize and take the heat for the 3 headed monster goalie situation. It was time to act to right the ship with the Ramo waiving. Not a demotion for Ramo but a tough solution to an unfortunate problem. Was not the A plan he had intended when he signed Ramo. Avoided any discussion about trades but reading between the lines some other plan fell through. (Hiller trade?)
The letdown against the Caps when the team fell behind 2-1 early in the 2nd period was a big concern for both he and Bob. That happens when a team has lost confidence. Just did not happen last year except during the 8 game losing streak. So much of hockey is mental between the ears. (Boy do we need another Kings Gaudreau hat trick or Giordano OT winner to get our mojo back!)
Not going to make any panic trade moves. This is the moment when GMs can make big mistakes that cost the team dearly in long run. (Bennett is not getting traded)
Ramo in minors will not hurt Gillies. They know how outstanding an asset they have in Gillies and plan to take very good care of insuring he plays enough.
Kulak was perhaps the biggest pleasant surprise this season but the big leagues caught up to him. (Some top pair Stockton minutes will be just what he needs)
Nakladal better than expected. Could surprise once he gets his shot with the Flames.
Brad speaks clearly, openly and transparently. He has a plan to build assets toward a championship team but has to stick to the plan and not panic. He is as upset as we all are regarding the poor start.
We are in year 3 of a rebuild after all...
In Brad we trust!
