Rules are set to off by default so when you first play you can spin backwards but when you go into options and set rules to on you cant spin backwards.

well there were exceptions to the rule of the puck moving forward last season, the best example being Malkin's between-the-legs game winner. if they were to stick to the rules then his goal shouldn't have counted, which would have been really stupid. they talked about changing that rule to making it so the player has to be in a constant forward motion, not the puck. hopefully that goes through and the games take advantage, as i'd love to pull some sick moves in a shootout
