Volquez was nibbling away all game. I'm sorry but you live and die by that approach, umps gave him some other strikes that weren't strikes. The ump apologizes to Sal Perez?! Give me a break.

Fangraphs was saying that in 2015, pitches in that exact spot were called a strike 46% of the time. So its basically the definition of a borderline pitch and there's no "right" call. Great pitch in a 3-2 count, but also a great job of holding off by Bautista. The Royals have gotten more than enough close strike calls this series so its hard for them to complain.
Either way, Tulo's big hit came with 1 out so it really wouldn't have made difference. One less run in but the game was still broken open
