Ramo passing successfully through waivers may make him more attractive to a team that is headed to the playoffs, and isn't comfortable with their goaltending depth. Wouldn't it then be possible for him to be assigned directly to the AHL by the team that he is sent to?
The team that I see most likely to want a proven goalie in this position are the NY Islanders. They currently have Thomas Griess as their backup, and lost Poulin on waivers to the Lightning. Although they will have the opportunity to reacquire Poulin when he is sent back down in a few weeks, they may feel more comfortable having a proven NHL goalie taking regular reps down in the AHL. If anything happens to Halak, would you rather have Griess as your number 1, or Ramo?
In terms of return, I wouldn't expect much more than JS Berube (a goalie for AHL Stockton) and perhaps one of NYs buried defensive prospects. Calgary eats whatever is left to balance the salaries (maybe a million), and NY gains an open contract spot.
I would put the possibility of a trade at about 50/50.
