Only if there was ever a danger of losing that seat. Its not like the Liberals were making a big push in Calgary West... at all. I know a lot of people there who support the Conservatives but voted Green because A) they new the Cons would get in anyways and B) they couldn't stomach supporting Anders, though they support the party.
Calgary West was not a CPC vs. Liberal battleground.

I probably would vote Conservative if Anders wasn't the representative. I disagree with his stance on pretty much everything. I oppose his views on gay marriage, immigration, ethics, Canadian Military operations, etc.. I think he's discriminatory, closed minded and crude and my only wish is that the electoral process was complete in that someone else was allowed to challenge him for the Conservative representation of Calgary West.

I think a lot of people agree with you... thats why CPC riding members are upset that the nomination process that confirmed Rob recently may have been a bit shady.

The issue here is that it doesn't seem like fair practice is going on. A liberal seat in Calgary West isn't support for the Liberals, it's a protest against the representation of Calgary West given by Rob Anders.

I think some serious CPC meltdowns would have to happen for the Liberals to win Calgary West in the next few decades, even if the CPC uses a monkey as its candidate (or Rob Anders!).
