Monahan has more goals than any forward from Jankowski's
or Monahan's draft classes. He's also third in points behind Galchenyuk (3rd OA) and MacKinnon (1st OA).
Monahan's accomplishments are impressive, but the 2012/2013 first rounds, there are still quite a few players still looking to catch their NHL break. Poirier, for instance, is only three months younger than Jankowski. Forsberg, who was more NHL-ready than Janko, just broke out last year.
The main thing to remember is that the Flames said from day one, that it would be four, five years before Janko would be in the NHL.
