It's good to see that people are finally seeing the light re mattresses. I could never understand why most people would think nothing of spending 30 to $40,000. to purchase a vehicle they spend one hour a day in, and then turn around and spend $500.00 for a mattress they spend 8 hrs. a day in.

I went to purchasing the Simmons mattresses back in the 1970's as their packed spring technology IMO was vastly superior to other mattresses. I purchased their "Quintessence" which was the best you could get at the time. It came with a quilted top and you could get it in either a firm, regular or soft model. They have since expanded the number of different choices, depending on how much you care to spend. The one we purchased recently was a "Simmons Beautyrest Cabernet".

IMO you might as well go to a Kingsize right from the start, as it give you all the room you need for a couple - especially if one of you moves around a lot while sleeping. The beauty of Simmons is, with the coiled spring technology, you don't feel the movement going on in other parts of the bed while your sleeping.

The Bay or Sears fequently have half priced sales on Simmons mattresses. You will probably have to pay about $1400. for a good quality mattress that normally sells for $3,000.+ regular price. Box springs and frame will be extra.
