There has really been a widening void for moderate/progressive conservatives as Harper and his reformers have pulled the party further to the right. I think that a lot of moderate conservatives are realizing that the nearest option to their beliefs is actually voting liberal, and that will possibly (probably?) be the Achilles heel of the CPC in this election.
