Mirtle is blaming the Kings for failing to do anything much to help Richards' addiction issues. He is blaming the NHLPA for letting the Kings off the hook on the termination. What he is not doing is blaming the NHLPA for failing to do anything much to help Richards' addiction issues. And he should, because the union has routinely failed to place player health and safety very high on its list of priorities.
