I was actually just down in Long Island last week and ended up having some beers with people that talked about this. They said the amityville house isn't the scariest one, especially since all of the windows were replaced.
the scary house is the massapequa hell house. One guy even had stories of his friends being in a car accident 2 days after jumping the fence etc.
