I felt like Calgary's bottom 9 forwards were way more impactful last night, especially the second line. Raymond Bennett and Frolik were very aggressive and stretched the D with their speed. If Raymond can keep playing like that, and when Bennett and Frolik both settle in, this team could have strong secondary scoring.
The defense were much smarter with their passes and aggression this game. Hamilton did the "blindly throw the puck up the boards" play less tonight, he's starting to settle in. Love the celebration on the goal too. Can't believe he's only 21. Engelland and Kulak were very steady for the Flames. Love how Wideman can go from goat to hero with 1 play. It took him a little bit to wake up last year too. He'll get his play back up to standard in no time.
Love how calm Hiller is in the net. Ramo may have higher highs, but he also has lower lows and he seems to be all over the place in the net. Makes me nervous. Hiller is very calm and plays the angles very well. I wonder if that calmness helps ease the rest of the team and allows them to play "their game" a little easier. Should be an interesting battle in the next over the next little while.
