The question is: is Ortio a 3rd string goalie? I think almost everyone here would agree that he is not.
Note: please don't quote Hartley's comment as a rebuttal. We know what he said, the issue is what did he mean? And for me, like GreenLantern said, all it means is that he hasn't passed the vets YET. Today. Give it time, he's only played a handful of games.
The Flames have invested far too much, and gotten Ortio this close to taking over, simply to trade him for a pick and start over. Unless they think he doesn't have it (which I strongly doubt)

Based on what we saw from Ortio last year I think he is on par with Ramo, but I have some concerns that this may be his high watermark.
If gillies looks like he is a year away, Ortio might be the odd man out.
The pressure for Ortio may be coming from below rather than up top
