Prior to this year, the Australian Rugby Union would only select players playing domestically in Australia for the Wallaby side. The New Zealand Rugby Union have a similar rule; to be considered for All Blacks selection you must play your rugby in New Zealand.
Earlier this year Australia relaxed the rules and now allows overseas-based players to be eligible for selection in the Wallaby side.
