Otherwise, the Flames will probably end up spending that 2nd round pick on another goalie prospect and waiting 4-5 years for that prospect to get to the point where Ortio is now - reasonable optimism and ready for a good long look as a backup (if things go well that is).
It would be of little interest to the Flames I am sure in making a trade for a 2nd round pick.

Looknat what Treliving did with multiple second round picks this past summer. A second rounder is valuable currency at the draft or deadline to add to the team. Also it could add to the strong prospect base.
I think the Flames future number 1 is Gillies anyway. Having said all that I prefer to trade Hiller or Ramo for a 3rd than Ortio for a 2nd but would rather trade Ortio for a 2nd than give Hillernor Ramo away for nothing
