It would be of little interest to the Flames I am sure in making a trade for a 2nd round pick.

I don't quite agree with you there. 2nd round picks are valuable trade commodities at the deadline and at the draft. Arguably more valuable than a 3rd string goalie. If Hartley thought Ortio was the goalie of the future he would be playing.
If the ultimate goal is to land a true #1 then the pick may be more helpful.
