As figured, Stroman a bit too amped up, and then booting the ball like they did in the Buehrle start in the 1st inning.
Not getting a run through what, 7 innings to the 14th kills it. Way too much pressure those guys are feeling.
I didn't think the lineup would turnover twice in extra innings without the Jays coming through with something.
That said, without a doubt, the Dome being closed prevented an EE home run in the 13th. Seen enough games on TV from Skydome and that one off the bat was long gone. Seen much less (with the Dome open) go out this year and that one was hit a lot better and harder than that. Puzzling why its been closed, wonder how that decision is made.
No pressure on the Jays now...once again they were one swing away from tying or winning the game, just like Game 1, and the bats have come up short. Can't get down on themselves now, or suddenly try and change the approach at the plate (some small ball would've helped today, but clearly that's not the way this team is going to win in the long term).
The key will be the Dickey start; if he's got the knuckler moving it hopefully ties up the Rangers for that game, and the next one. Hopefully Pillar and Smoak stop waving at everything out of the zone and watching everything in the zone blow past them. Tulo has to pick it up for more than 1 AB per game.
Still, I expected a huge game from the Jays bats in this series, and now it has to be Game 3 to see another day...they win Game 5 if it gets back to TO.
