“I’ve taken a fair bit of stick for it,” Hogg confessed, after training with his team-mates at the Royal Grammar School ahead of their final Pool B encounter with Samoa at St James’ on Saturday.
“Obviously I made a mistake. There’s no room in rugby for that. I’ve apologised to the boys for that. It won’t be happening again, that’s for sure.”
