Size does matter when you're in a division like ours. We play too many big teams between the Sharks, Kings, Ducks and Jets. If a team is big and skilled like those, it is difficult to push through if you're not also big and skilled. Losing Byron sucks, but the Flames have more than enough talent in the organization to replace him without losing much if anything from the talent pool.
It sucks losing Byron, and I wish him all the best in Montreal, but the Flames will be fine moving forward without him. It opens a spot for a guy like Granlund/Poirier/Klimchuk to come up during the season to take a spot. That's more important in my book. We are going to have to transition from some of the vets to new people. This is just another step in that direction.
