Just to clarify, if Ortio was claimed on waivers, the claiming team has to keep him on the NHL roster all season and if they did put him back on waivers, we get first dibs to have him back? Still too risky IMO. There are a few teams that could claim him as they do not have a steady backup situation and if he played lights out for them they just got a free asset. There is literally no risk for a team to claim him. If he plays great you look like a genius, if not put him back on waivers and you'll lose a player you never really had in the first place.
