Also, I wonder, we are all assuming this is about justifying playing Ramo and Hiller to up their trade value, and or help the Flames decide which one they'll waive.
But I also don't think Hartley would ever make those claims unless he was also sending a message to Ortio. I doubt it's one of anger or disappointment, but I would also think it's fair to say Hartley doesn't think Ortio grab the job the way say Kulak did (very different situations I know, harder for Ortio). Right now, I think Hartley's kind of also saying, hey, "I have 3 guys I think I can play, and with all else being equal, I'm going to play the vets who have more of a track record, Ortio, up to you to change my mind".
