We will never really know what was Treliving's reasoning for signing Ramo in the offseason but I imagine as the offseason progressed and there was no suitors for any of the Flames three goaltenders in a trade that the team had hopes that one would stand out in training camp and that never really happened as none of the goaltenders stood out good or bad as they all were just competent. Now it appears they will simply extend the process into the regular season and see how it plays out while hoping another team that suffers an injury at the position comes calling for one of the three.
