I feel like with the Flames current depth he wouldn't even be the 3rd farm call-up. Hathaway has shown more in less time than Shore. Granlund is looking better than last year. Poirier should be able to pick it back up once he gets his speedy legs back under him. Arnold is also younger and has looked like a steady bottom 6 player. Klimchuk is also a very steady but non flashy player who is 4 years younger and might be ready for a callup come trade deadline. Hell even BVB was looking quick and more determined this camp.
If Shore wasn't waiver eligible he wouldn't have outlasted these guys in camp. He's waiver eligible and not good enough to be a mainstay in the NHL. Obviously losing an asset for nothing isn't ideal, but I'm not going to lose sleep if Shore is no longer part of the organization.
