I recently built a home and have known Dave from 3D Security for over 30 years. He is a security specialist who really focuses on installing a proper security system, which gives you perimeter control, motions in proper places and alarms. You buy the equipment and pay for install which is usually around $2k to $2500 and then you pay monitoring which is roughly $100 a year.
I prefer to buy the equipment and then just pay for monitoring not continually be paying for the equipment with the monitoring at $80 to $120 a month.
He uses DSC equipment and there is a module to connect to smartphone monitoring but that isn't his speciality. Mine does happen to integrate with my smart home controller allowing be to arm the alarm remotely or see what zones are affected.[/QUOT
