The second highest scorer on the team put up 58 points.
The Penguins finished 29th in the NHL with the same 58 points.

My argument is, if a 102 point Crosby doesn't get the team any more points than the previous year, what is McDavid going to do for the Oilers?
But you are forgetting that the Oilers have much more than the Penguins had in Crosby's first year.

The Oilers also have:

- the best LW in the game in Hall, he's going to break 100 points;
- toe drag king Eberle, he's going to score 40 goals, 30 toe drag specials;
- 2015/2016 Selke winner RNH, he's going to score 80 points on the second line and shutdown the opposition's top lines;
- Yakupov is going to breakout with another 40 goals;
- a young Jagr in Draisatl;
- 2015/2016 Norris winner Justin Schultz;
- a young Chris Pronger in Nurse.

Frankly, 100 points for McDavid would be a disappointment with those linemates. He better get 150 points.
