That should be the Liberal Party. Martin was a fiscally conservative Liberal and even though Chretien and Martin did not agree all the time, they made the balance work for a while.

But at least on stage, the Liberals seem to have shifted more left these days. I think once in office, they would probably shift back.

I think a CPC and LPC government with either one being the opposition could work together yet still challenge each other. CPC and NDP would be nothing but a bloodbath. LPC and NDP would probably not challenge each other enough and would sell out just to avoid an election.
