I am thinking the opposite will happen, and these particular TDI models will be gold to some people who want the mileage and performance and don't care about about emissions. - assuming you are able to get the cars insured or registered without getting the fix done. If you are forced to get the fix, then good for the environment, but car resale will probably be pretty bad. Who wants a neutered VW?

Bit of an interesting story on it. Looks like a good candidate as a case study in ethics. Especially since there were no whistleblowers at all!
