I'd argue that Rogers should spend a bit more on the team because business wise that additional investment in payroll can yield better attendance, better T.V. ratings, which in turn generates enough revenue to cover the added expenditures.
The Jays should have one of the better RSN agreements in the majors due to Sportsnet's national coverage, and Rogers can use a successful Jays team to market other media that they sell.
It's the Bill Wirtz thing. They can cheap out on it, and hope to make enough through revenue sharing due to their ineptness of running the ball club....or invest in the team and have the business thrive. Maybe this recent bit of success may cause Rogers to realize the opportunity that they've missed out on previously.
