It is hard right now not to get excited about this team and how they will line up!
I hope Wotherspoon takes the next step - if Brodie wants to keep playing on the right, that could be a good pairing to get Wotherspoon settled, then load up TJ with special teams minutes and the odd shift with Gio at 5 on 5 (especially 3rd period).
Colborne sounds like he is coming on well - either him or Hudler should be on Bennett's line, or perhaps both? At least one guy on Bennett's line should be able to take faceoffs well, to ease pressure on the rookie. I like the addition of Frolik as it gives the team another guy who can go with Backlund and take tough matchups.
Maybe the lines end up something like this:
#1 = Gaudreau - Monahan - Colborne
#2a = Bouma - Backlund - Frolik = tough matchups
#2b = Hudler - Bennett - Jooris = Jooris here for RS faceoff spot duty
#4 = Ferland - Stajan - Jones
Giordano - Hamilton
Russell - Wideman
Wotherspoon - Brodie = with Brodie getting up-shifted a few times
PP = Gaudreau - Monahan - Hudler - Giordano - Wideman
PP2 = Colborne - Bennett - Jones - Brodie - Hamilton
PK = Backlund - Frolik - Giordano - Hamilton
PK2 = Stajan - Jooris - Russell - Brodie
4on4 = Gaudreau - Monahan - Giordano - Hamilton
4on4 2 = Hudler - Backlund - Brodie - Wideman
No Wotherspoon on special teams, nor the two hitting forwards (Bouma, Ferland) to manage their minutes for effectiveness.
That is one solid, balanced lineup! Bring on October!
