As I said before Ben Roethlisberger faced two separate rape allegations and I've yet to hear him booed in any NFL game. He even served a 6 game suspension though for violating personal conduct policy because of the allegations but I haven't heard of any NFL players targeting him or anyone in public for that matter. I don't think it's going to be nearly as big a deal as you seem to think as sports fans have short memories.
If anyone was listening to 960 Duhatschek was going on about when Doug Gilmour was traded to the Flames due to the Blues wiping their hands of him and his rape allegations. I don't recall anyone in Calgary in particular making a huge deal about it and he's a beloved figure in Toronto still.
Bottom line is that unless these guys are convicted like Mike Tyson most of these allegations slide over time.
