I found it VERY interesting when he said "It's already too late". It's like he knows something but how could he?

I think it has more to do with his daughter saying "you said all our family was buried in El Salvador".
It appears he has experience with the army running things. You will note also, his wife said something along the lines of "your dad and I have been in worse situations".
