Damn right in the feels.

I grew up Brandon Manitoba, while both my parents are from rural Saskatchewan, so many memories from my youth are from worn down prairie towns like Indian Head (population 1,815). Abandoned cars/farm equipment, plywood covered window... and lord the drinking. Lack of opportunity outside of the hog plants make these places pretty easy to leave at 22.

Heck my hometown's core is looking more and more like urban decay porn then an actual city.

But having said all that, Tim Smith of Brandon paints a much nicer picture of the area, his Hutterites series was recently on the New York Times website... so it's not all bad.
