You know what I love?
Reminding people that Alberta actually has a lot less refinery capacity than they think and that for the most part gas stations are all selling gas from the same refineries.
Is it collusion when every store charges $1 for a bag of chips?
No, becasue they all buy from the same supplier and add the same tax and markup.
Gas stations generally buy from the same refinery, add the same taxes, and presumably keep a pretty similar profit for themselves, it just kinda makes sense.
Sure they probalby look out the window and if the guy across the streed is a cent higher or lower they'll eat it, or take the chance to earn a little more, but the VAST majority of the price of gas is supply cost, and taxes, so there isn't much a gas station can do about $1/L gas prices.
