I don't think the US will ever send in ground troops. However they are at the point where helping to put Assad back in power is a good option.
The US will continue with strikes from the north, while Russia and Iran prop up Assad in the south. Whether or not there is any formal cooperation between the US and the other forces was more what I was curious about.
All of these things happening at the same time seems like too much of a coincidence for there not to be.
